Tour Itinerary: 3 Days Merzouga Motorcycle Enduro Tour
DAY 1: Merzouga – Tisardmine Oasis – Fossil Area – Desert Exploration – Merzouga
Your KTM adventure begins in Merzouga, where we greet you after breakfast and gear you up for the desert ride. After a short introduction to your KTM bike and a comprehensive safety briefing, you’ll be ready to hit the desert trails with confidence.
The journey kicks off with a ride across the majestic Erg Chebbi dunes, towering up to 150 meters high. Riding here is not just about adrenaline—it’s about navigating nature’s largest sandbox with skill and style.
We’ll then make our way to the tranquil Tisardmine Oasis, a hidden green gem surrounded by golden sands. The ride continues through Azrkam Oasis, where you’ll get a taste of the region’s ancient water sources and date palm groves.
Midday, we stop for a relaxed outdoor lunch in the heart of the desert, complete with refreshing tea and delicious local food.
In the afternoon, we explore a fascinating fossil site, where the sands hold remnants of ancient marine life—proof that this region was once under the sea millions of years ago. It’s a surreal stop that adds a historical touch to the adventure.
We then return to Merzouga for a relaxing evening at a traditional guesthouse. Here, you’ll enjoy a delicious dinner and unwind as the sun sets over the golden dunes.
DAY 2: Merzouga – Mifis Mines – Begaa Village – Znaigi Region – Nomadic Camp
Rise early and fuel up for another thrilling day of desert riding. Today, we venture even deeper into the Sahara’s wild terrain.
We kick off with a 10-kilometer ride through the dunes, tackling soft sands and steep slopes as we head to the abandoned mines of Mifis. These old salt and kohl mines, once bustling with life, are now silent reminders of the desert’s rich mineral past.
From there, we journey to Begaa Village, a quiet, remote settlement where tradition still reigns. Along the way, we pass through Znaigi, a lesser-known yet incredibly scenic stretch of desert terrain filled with dry riverbeds, rocky outcrops, and endless sand plains.
For lunch, we stop and share a traditional meal with a Nomad family, who will welcome you into their tent with genuine warmth and a cup of sweet Moroccan mint tea. This is your chance to experience their unique way of life and hear stories passed down through generations.
As the day winds down, we ride back to Merzouga where your evening awaits at a Berber desert camp beneath a sky full of stars. Enjoy live traditional music, hearty food, and the quiet magic of the Sahara at night.
DAY 3: Erg Chebbi Loop – Paris Dakar Trail – Nomad Visit – Final Ride to Merzouga
After breakfast in the camp, we saddle up for one last epic ride to close out this unforgettable 3-day adventure.
We begin with a scenic loop around the Erg Chebbi dunes, following off-the-map trails that provide a mix of soft sand and rugged terrain.
Next, we blaze along a section of the former Paris-Dakar Rally route, one of the most legendary off-road racing paths in the world. This segment is a pure thrill—speed, dust, and wide-open landscapes that seem to stretch forever.
Our final stop is another Nomad family camp hidden in the dunes. Here, we pause for lunch and traditional tea, soaking in the atmosphere and reflecting on the wild journey we’ve had.
As the sun lowers in the sky, we ride back to Merzouga village, bringing this 3-day KTM motorcycle tour to a triumphant close.
