About the Route: Errachidia, Erg Chebbi, Ouzina and the Dakar Tracks
South-eastern Morocco is a natural enduro playground. North of Merzouga lie the palm groves of the Tarda Oasis and the circular rock of Gara Medouar, a famous international film location near Rissani. Around Merzouga rise the Erg Chebbi dunes, and further south stretch the quieter dunes of Ouzina, the Tijakht Mountains and the Oued Ghris riverbed.
This region is crossed by sections of the old Paris-Dakar rally piste, still one of the most exciting places in the world to ride a desert enduro bike.

Tour Itinerary: 4-Day KTM Sahara Enduro Experience – Errachidia to Merzouga & Back
DAY 1: Errachidia – Tarda Oasis – Gara Medouar – Merzouga
Your Morocco motorcycle adventure begins in Errachidia with a short 10 km asphalt section before leaving the road and entering the desert.
Ride your KTM enduro motorcycle through Tarda Village and the beautiful Tarda Oasis, then continue across rocky desert pistes and mountain tracks. This first stage delivers a true Morocco off-road motorcycle experience, with varied terrain and spectacular scenery.
Enjoy a panoramic stop at the Orient Stars viewpoint near Arfoud before continuing towards Gara Medouar, a spectacular circular rock formation near Rissani and a famous international movie location.
From Gara Medouar the route continues towards the magnificent Erg Chebbi dunes, where you finish your first day riding into Merzouga.

DAY 2: Merzouga – Erg Chebbi – Ouzina Dunes – Jdaid Village
After breakfast, continue your Merzouga desert enduro experience with a full day of off-road riding.
Start by exploring the Erg Chebbi dunes on your KTM 450, combining sandy sections with fast desert pistes around Merzouga, the perfect opportunity to feel the thrill of Sahara off-road riding.
Leave Erg Chebbi behind and ride through remote desert landscapes and rugged mountain terrain towards the impressive Ouzina Dunes. Ouzina offers an authentic Sahara enduro experience far from the busy tourist routes, with untouched landscapes, challenging pistes and spectacular views.
Continue to Jdaid Village, a peaceful and authentic desert community, for a traditional Moroccan dinner and a night surrounded by the Sahara.
Overnight: Jdaid Village (Dinner & Breakfast)
DAY 3: Jdaid Village – Tijakht Mountains – Ramlia – Paris-Dakar Track – Merzouga
Day three is the heart of your KTM Sahara adventure and one of the most exciting stages of this Morocco enduro tour.
Leave Jdaid and enter the rugged Tijakht Mountains, riding technical rocky terrain before descending towards the Oued Ghris riverbed. Follow the river trail towards the remote village of Ramlia, surrounded by dramatic desert landscapes, and cross the Ramlia dunes.
Then reach sections of the legendary Paris-Dakar rally piste. Ride your KTM through the old Dakar tracks, crossing rocky plateaus, sandy sections and wide-open landscapes: a genuine Paris-Dakar enduro experience and one of the highlights of the trip.
Return towards Merzouga and finish the day at a traditional desert camp beneath the stars.
Overnight: Desert camp in Merzouga (Dinner & Breakfast)
DAY 4: Merzouga – Arfoud – Errachidia
Wake up to the spectacular Sahara landscape and begin the final stage of your Merzouga enduro adventure with one last Erg Chebbi desert riding experience.
Follow fast desert pistes towards Arfoud and visit a traditional fossil workshop to discover the fascinating prehistoric history of the region. After lunch in Arfoud, continue the final off-road section towards Errachidia.

Best Time for This Enduro Tour in Morocco
The best season for an enduro motorcycle tour in southern Morocco is from October to April, when daytime temperatures are comfortable for riding. Spring and autumn are ideal. Winter days are sunny and mild, but desert and mountain nights can be cold, so bring a warm layer. Summer (June to August) is very hot in the Sahara and is only recommended for short early-morning rides.
How to Get to Errachidia
The tour starts and ends in Errachidia, which has its own airport (Moulay Ali Cherif) with connections to Casablanca. You can also reach Errachidia by bus or private transfer from Fes, Marrakech or Ouarzazate. Contact us and we will help you plan your arrival.
